HCSA – the Hospital Doctors’ Union has today written to all members in England to relay the outcome of our indicative electronic ballots held in June.
The National Executive Committee carefully considered the results of these votes and has opted not to move to a formal postal ballot for any grade group at this time.
In light of five days of strike action by BMA resident doctors announced from July 25th, HCSA has produced guidance for members outlining their rights and responsibilities during periods of industrial action.
For HCSA, this is not the end of the matter. Our view is that the only way to resolve repeated disputes on pay is for the government to commit to a road map on pay. We shall continue to see industrial unrest until this matter is resolved.
HCSA will continue to be led by our members. The NEC does not rule out the possibility of a future strike ballot should members indicate sufficient support.
