Yesterday the Review Body on Doctors' and Dentists' Remuneration (DDRB) released its report on pay for doctors for 2016-17.
The main headline was a recommendation by the DDRB for a 1 per cent increase in all national salary scales as from the April 1st 2016.
It also extended the proposal of a 1 per cent rise to national Clinical Exellence Awards.
In a written statement, Secretary of State Jeremy Hunt said the government would accept the recommendations "in full."
HCSA general secretary Eddie Saville commented: "This was the expected outcome from the DDRB and the HCSA Executive will consider its position at that time."
